What are our core ministry values?
The shape of our ministry is informed by these core values. They keep us focused
on what is essential and guard us from error.
1. The sufficiency of God's word (Acts 2:42; 2 Timothy 3:16-17 & 4:2; Hebrews 4:12)
The bible is God's breathed-out word and so
It is without error
it is God's means of accomplishing God's purposes
2. Christ exalting worship (John 4:23)
Jesus draws people to himself when he is "lifted up" (John 12:32)
Worship strengthens the believer (Hebrews 10:25)
new believers give evidence of conversion through worship
3. Hospitality (Hebrews 13:12; Romans 12:13)
Shows the love of Jesus to the stranger
4. Biblical fellowship (Acts 2:42)
Strengthens, tests and confirms the believer's profession of faith (Hebrews 10:23-25)
Is obedience to Jesus' command to love one another (John 13:34)
5. Biblical ecclesiology (Matthew 16:19 & 18:17-18)
The local church is led by a plurality of elders (1 Peter 5:1)
Affirmed by local church members
6. Multiplication (Matthew 28:19-20)
The church's collective mission is what each believer joins. The church seeks to make other
Disciples of Jesus, leaders, churches
7. Prayer (Acts 2:42)
Acknowledges our complete dependence upon God and our inability to accomplish anything of eternal value apart from the Holy Spirit
